Jason WINSLUT
THE REFORMED PASTOR AND HIS AFFAIR with ROME
Jason Winslade and Brendan Malone are unified ministry leaders of the pro-life movement here in New Zealand. Jason also pastors a Reformed Baptist church called "Redemption Church" in Christchurch where he preaches the gospel faithfully every Sunday. Brendan prefers to attend local mass where instead of just praying to God, he includes Mary and all the other idolatry catholics love to indulge in. Two men, with two different gospels yoked in ministry together. Scripture is clear, this union that is predestined to fail, so, Jason must chose; will it be God and repentance or his catholic 'bf' and his pride.

Pastor Jason Winslade's affair with Brendan Malone, a Catholic, in the fight against abortion is no mere collaboration; it’s a theological betrayal that trades the true gospel for a compromised alliance. Scripture thunders, “Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers” (2 Corinthians 6:14). Like mismatched oxen straining at a plow, Jason’s entanglement with Malone, whose Catholic theology clings to Mary, purgatory, and penance, can only lead to spiritual ruin and a ministry that will not be blessed. Hence abortion laws have only got worse while these two have been folicking about. Jason’s flirtation with Rome threatens to undermine the very truth he’s sworn to preach and the unborn he desires to rescue.
Like most affairs, usually they begin with a discontentment with the people we are supposed to be yoked with. God’s church—Jason's true yoke-fellows—have failed to love their unborn neighbours adequately and have therefore failed to confront abortion with gospel clarity. So Jason, instead of remaining steadfast to scripture and obeying God's commands, he compromised and traded Christ's gospel power for a seat with Rome. He could have worked within God's providence, but Rome has providence too and its providence comes with more donors and more people who will march the street, so the compromise is made and the affair begins
Some defend Jason, shrugging, “It’s not ministry; we’re just united against abortion.” That’s a lie. Abortion is not just a social issue; it is sin, a grievous rebellion against the God who knits life in the womb (Psalm 139:13). Every terminated pregnancy is an act of murder, a defiance of the sixth commandment, “Thou shall not murder” (Exodus 20:13). Sin, and therefore abortion, by its nature, separates humanity from a holy God, and its only remedy is the gospel—the good news that Christ’s death and resurrection provide atonement for those who repent and believe (Romans 3:23-25). This is not just politics; this is ministry. Jesus declared, “Apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5)—nothing eternal, nothing that lasts. Partnering in ministry with those who reject sola scriptura and justification by faith alone dilutes the gospel’s power.
The Reformation wasn’t a casual disagreement; it was a war against Rome’s false gospel. Martin Luther roared, “The righteousness of God is revealed in the gospel, received by faith alone, not by works, as the Papists falsely teach.” John Calvin condemned Rome for “corrupting” justification with works. Charles Spurgeon called the Church of Rome a tool of “hell’s mischief.” These giants of our faith drew a line in the sand, and Jason, as a Reformed pastor, should stand firmly on their side. Yet, he’s soo entangled himself with Rome he has found himself praising the catholics instead of rebuking them. Below is Jason's recommendation of Brendan Malone on his website Lifenet

“Drawing upon a depth of cultural insight, and with apologetic precision, Brendan is our nation’s go-to person for training the next generation”.
Yes, a reformed pastor just said this about a guy who thinks Mary has saving power. "Drawing upon a depth of cultural insight," you say?—Too bad that cultural insight doesn't come with a little thing called sola scriptura. "Apologetic precision"? —if the apologetic includes 'pope infallibility' then I'd say Brendan's apologetics are not just fallible, but dangerous. What's next, will Jason start recommending muslim's to us because of their amazing exegesis of the torah? And ‘training the next generation’? Great, now he is endorsing Brendan's shepherdship for our children. Next time, Pastor, maybe check whether the guy your endorsing loves your God before you crown him our nation’s nanny.
So, who should Christians partner with? Those who love the Lord and His gospel—christian brothers like me, who cling to sola scriptura, who preach Christ crucified, who know that salvation is by grace through faith alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). The church, flawed as it is, is Jason’s rightful partner, not Rome’s emissaries. God’s not a utilitarian, tallying saved babies like a cosmic accountant. He cares about His glory, and He blesses what’s faithful, what’s built on His Word (Psalm 1:1-3). The gospel Jason preaches on Sunday—the one that saved him—is the only weapon that can crush abortion and save souls. Trading it for Rome’s table is folly.
The stakes are high, the blood’s crying from the ground, that's why Jason must repent and end this disgusting love affair with those who hate his God. He must ties with Malone and his gospel-less, Mary worshiping system. The blood of the unborn demands a response, but it must be a gospel preaching, God honouring response, untainted by Rome’s errors.
Jason, yoke yourself with the church, with brothers who share your faith, and fight with the sword of truth. However, If you don't repent, then bring it on you idiot. I look forward to dismantling you, and your boyfriends putrid empire with the unyielding power of the gospel, because nothing less will do.

I write these articles because I love the Lord and am commanded to love my neighbour. I was once apathetic towards my unborn neighbours plight but I have repented. I now desire for others to see the unborn person as their neighbour and therefore refuse to make peace with the church's apathy with abortion.
